Katy Cooke PhD
Medical Writer

Katy was awarded a PhD from The University of Reading, where her research focused on developing proteomic approaches to analyse cell signalling pathways. Primarily this involved using affinity chromatography and mass spectrometry to investigate the specificity of histone deacetylase inhibitors. During this time she also spent 6 months working on a collaborative project between The University of Reading and industry sponsors, studying platelets and their roles in haemostasis and thrombosis. Prior to this, she gained a First Class Honours Degree in Biological Sciences, specializing in biomedical sciences, from the same institute. Katy joined Alpha-Plus as an Editorial Assistant in December 2009 and was promoted to Medical Writer in May 2010, just 5 months after joining the company.
