George
is a Director and founding member of Alpha-Plus. He comes with
14 years of experience in healthcare communications, both as an
agency Medical Writer and as Medical Writing Consultant to the
Atherothrombosis Franchise, International Marketing, Sanofi-Synthèlabo,
where he was closely involved in the management and implementation
of the strategic publication plan for a new antiplatelet agent.
George has worked on a wide range of project types (publication
planning, preparation of posters and slides, symposium workbooks,
sole-sponsor
journals, literature awareness service) in a range of therapeutic
areas. His core therapeutic area is cardiovascular medicine,
with particular expertise in antiplatelet agents, and he also
has in-depth
experience in CNS (epilepsy, migraine), diabetes, gastroenterology
and urology (benign prostatic hypertrophy).
George's agency experience is complemented by a strong scientific
background. After completing a BSc in Biological Sciences at
the University of Edinburgh and a PhD in Biochemistry at the
University
of Glasgow, he took up a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University
of Colorado, Boulder, USA. He then went on to become a Senior
Research Associate at the University of East Anglia, working
for the Medical
Research Council's AIDS Directed Programme. During his career
in research, George authored a number of peer-reviewed publications. |
